This past week, Ms. MacKay and Ms. Hrustanovic's third grade classroom transformed into a poetry venue as students shared their "I Am" poems in a slam poetry session. Slam poetry is a type of performance poetry where poets recite original work in front of a live audience and panel of judges. With a microphone in hand, students took the stage to recite their poem while peer judges scored each reading. This project was more than just a performance—it was a celebration of self-expression, community, and the power of words. Bravo to the third graders in Ms. MacKay and Ms. Hrustanovic's class for a truly inspiring class!
