Students at Lackawanna Middle School recently experienced an electrifying day of friendly competition as they participated in the PBIS March Madness event. This event not only showcased the talents of the students but also provided an opportunity for them to engage with faculty, staff and even local law enforcement officers in a series of exciting basketball games.
The event kicked off with a showdown between the Modified Girls Basketball team and a team of our middle school staff. Despite a valiant effort from the students, the staff emerged victorious in a closely contested match.
In the subsequent game, the Modified Boys Basketball team took on members of the Lackawanna Police Department in a thrilling encounter. Despite their best efforts, the students fell short against the seasoned officers.
As anticipation reached a fever pitch, the final game of the afternoon saw the winning teams from the previous matches face off against each other. With the crowd cheering them on, both teams battled fiercely until the final seconds. Ultimately, it was the Lackawanna Police Department who emerged triumphant, securing a hard-fought victory against the Lackawanna Middle School staff.
Throughout the event, the atmosphere was filled with excitement and encouragement as our middle school students enthusiastically cheered on all the teams. It was a day filled with unforgettable moments and shared experiences, highlighting the spirit of unity and sportsmanship that defines the Lackawanna Middle School community.
