This week's staff spotlight is a special one! In honor of tomorrow's National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day, we recognize our School Resource Officer (SRO), Officer Keith Kwiatkowski. Read Keith's bio below!
"I am a 16-year veteran of the Lackawanna Police Department, and it is my honor to serve as the first School Resource Officer for the Lackawanna City School District. I have served in this capacity for the last three years.
While on patrol, I learned the importance of making a connection with the community you serve. I believe that community policing and engagement is valuable because it builds trust, strengthens relationships between law enforcement and the community and creates a safer, more connected environment.
In my role as SRO, it is my goal to help students and families to feel safe, bring a problem-solving approach to develop long-term solutions and bridge the gap between the school and the community."
Happy School Resource Officer Appreciation Day!
