This week, 5th-graders in Mrs. Girdlestone's class participated in a collaborative and critical thinking approach to learning vocabulary: TEAMWORK! By creating a peer collaborative learning environment, children engage in active learning, build a deeper understanding of the content and increase their confidence.
Students paired up with partners to tackle a list of challenging words from their weekly reading passage. Together, they worked to define and gain a deeper understanding of each word. By working together, students not only deepened their understanding of new words but also strengthened their collaboration and communication skills.
This engaging activity showcased how partnership can make learning more enjoyable and effective, setting the stage for continued success in the classroom.
