The Lackawanna City School District was recognized as a Woz STEM District of Distinction at the WozEd Pathway Conference in Phoenix, AZ. Woz STEM Districts are an elite group of districts that exemplify teaching and learning designed for students to explore their future in the tech economy.
Woz STEM Districts are change makers in education, and our district was inducted as part of an exclusive global community, recognized and celebrated for educational transformation that includes collaboration, problem solving and critical thinking.
Under the direction of the Principal of Curriculum and Instruction, Mrs. Angela McCaffrey and thanks to the hard work and dedication of the district STEM teachers, Jaime Beck (Truman), Lauren Vargovich (Martin Road), Dennis Lawton (Lackawanna Middle School) and Omer Bitar (Lackawanna High School) this program has truly come alive in our district for all students to experience and enjoy.
We were honored to be able to attend this conference, expand our learning and networking opportunities as well as to be honored with such an award.
