One School, One Book started off strong today at Martin Road Elementary. Students gathered in the auditorium for a special announcement of what this year's book would be.
This year's book is "Planet Omar: Accidental Trouble Magnet," a fun book about the main character, Omar, and his family as he starts an exciting new school year with a surprising twist.
Students will begin reading the book today and finish reading on Oct. 29. All students will receive a book and a family packet, which includes and reading schedule, scan code to guest readers and activities to complete with their family at home. You can download that packet HERE.
Students will also engage in daily trivia questions based on the previous night's reading, all culminating in an assembly at the end of the month with a school-wide trivia competition.
