Faculty and staff gather in LMS Foyer

Lackawanna City School District marked the beginning of the new academic year with a vibrant and engaging Staff Development Day. Superintendent Nashir opened the day with welcoming remarks, setting important goals, reflecting on the district's successes and establishing a positive tone for the year ahead.

Faculty and staff, new and old, were introduced and celebrated ahead of the first day of classes and were treated to an amazing surprise as the Lackawanna High School Band and Chorus made an unexpected appearance, filling the room with music and school spirit for our team.

After a morning filled with inspiration and camaraderie, including an inspiring keynote speech delivered by Joy Kelly, our LCSD team enjoyed lunch before heading off to group sessions at their respective schools.

This successful kickoff event has set a strong foundation for a promising school year ahead, and we cannot wait to see our students next week on opening day!
