Dear Steeler Family,

We hope this message finds you well. We are writing to inform you of an important matter that deeply affects our school community.

It is with heavy hearts that we share news of the tragic passing of Aiden Walden, a former Lackawanna School District student who maintained close ties to our community and has siblings within our district currently. Our thoughts and prayers are with Aiden's family during this incredibly difficult time.

In light of this unfortunate event and to ensure we are sensitive to the needs of our students, we have arranged for counseling staff to be available at Lackawanna Middle School on Thursday, July 27 and Friday, July 28, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. No appointments are necessary; students can simply sign in at the middle school office upon arrival to receive assistance.

Our dedicated counseling team is here to offer support, comfort  and a safe space for any student or family member who may be struggling to cope with this loss. We understand that grief can be an overwhelming emotion, and we want to ensure that everyone in our school community feels supported during this difficult time.

If you or your child feel the need to speak with a counselor or seek guidance, please don't hesitate to visit the middle school during the specified hours. Our staff is well-trained in providing compassionate support and can help you navigate through this challenging period.

Together we can create a caring and understanding environment for all. Please keep Aiden's family and friends in your thoughts.

Warmly,
