It is with great enthusiasm that we welcome Ms. Nadia A. Nashir as Superintendent of the Lackawanna City School District. A proud alumna of this district, Ms. Nashir brings over 26 years of educational experience, spanning roles as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, supervising principal, and assistant superintendent.

Ms. Nashir is a passionate advocate for public education and student success. She holds multiple certifications, including National Board Teacher Certification, TESOL, and School District Administrator credentials. Her academic achievements include a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, two master’s degrees in Educational Technology and Educational Leadership, and a Certificate of Advanced Study in TESOL.

In her previous role as Assistant Superintendent for Buffalo City Schools, Nadia Nashir demonstrated transformative leadership, spearheading initiatives to support multilingual learners, expand bilingual programs, and enhance professional development for educators. Her efforts have consistently led to higher student achievement and more equitable educational opportunities.

As an educator deeply committed to fostering excellence and equity, Ms. Nashir is excited to bring her expertise to the community where her own educational journey began. She looks forward to collaborating with staff, students, and families to continue building a thriving educational environment for all.
