Subject: Providing School Meals for Students Observing Ramadan March 2025 

The New York State Education Department (NYSED) now has approval by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to allow school food authorities to serve breakfast and lunch  meals to students who celebrate Ramadan who are  fasting during school hours.

Meals will be distributed by cafeteria personnel each afternoon that school is in session during the Ramadan observance February 28th through March 30th, 2025.

To receive  meals only to students fasting during Ramadan must be in attendance at school on the day the  meals are offered.

Lackawanna High School – Meals will be distributed at Dismissal Time at Front Doors of each school.

Martin Road Elementary – Meals will be distributed at Lunch Time. Please ask for Assistant Manager for assistance.

Truman Elementary – Please ask for Assistant Manager for assistance.
