Lackawanna City Schools has utilized the information collected in the 2021 Building Condition Survey to develop a long-term plan and capital project for the District’s facilities. The District worked with our architectural and construction management partners to identify the systems in most need of repair/replacement as well as the academic program needs.
The District is proposing a $81.2 million capital improvement project that focuses on aging building infrastructure and renovations for the ever-evolving educational program. These items are seen as needing attention now and are the highest priority of the Board of Education.
At the regular meeting of the School Board held on January 16, 2025, the board approved a contract with Buffalo Construction Consultants to provide construction management services for the $81.2M capital project approved by the voters on December 12, 2023.
