Students at workDuring all lunches in the Harbor Room on Feb. 28, Middle School students made birthday cards for Lucas Hembree, a Tennessee boy in hospice care.

Featured on the news, the family requested anyone and everyone to brighten his special day by sending him a birthday card. On March 2, Lucas became a teenager. Lucas has Sanfilippo Syndrome, a type of childhood dementia that causes brain damage. His family has remained optimistic and proud of the boy's fighting spirit.

Thanks Mrs. Chini for sending the cards from the LMS students to brighten his day!
