Students with donationsFor Martin Road Elementary School's Red Ribbon Week theme day, "Keep Your Paws off Drugs," Miss Lodge, Martin Road social worker, organized an animal shelter drive.

Martin Road staff and students donated food, treats, toys, accessories and money to the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter. The animal shelter takes in owner surrenders and strays and cares for them while they find loving adoptive homes.

Martin Road students were excited to be able to help the dogs and cats of Erie County! Students who brought in donations were entered in a drawing and winners were drawn. Twelve students from each grade level were able to get their picture taken with the therapy dog, Buster, who came with City of Buffalo Animal Shelter representatives to collect donations.
