Student with trumpetAs an aspiring young trumpet player, Julianno Ranic completed a project on Louis Armstrong, one of the most influential African American figures in music history. The project was part of Martin Road Elementary School's recognition of Black History Month.

Julianno, who is a fifth-grade student, wrote an essay describing Armstrong's musical contributions and the profound impact he had on breaking down numerous barriers imposed on African American musicians up to that point. He also recorded himself performing Armstrong's well-known song, "What A Wonderful World," in which he plays the famous trumpet solo as a duet with piano accompaniment.
