Lackawanna Schools Security Initiative
Our District has been working to increase security in all buildings. New security procedures have been adopted at the elementary schools as well as the Middle and High School Campus. For more information, please read this letter from the Superintendent.
Lackawanna Lead Testing Results and Action Plan
Please read this letter to review Lackawanna City School District’s lead testing results and action plan. The safety and security of Lackawanna CSD students, families, faculty, staff and community is the District’s main priority. We are taking responsive action to ensure each water source is in compliance with NYS water standards.

CHARGE POLICY FOR MEALS
The District's charge policy for the school breakfast/lunch program for Grades Pre-K – 12 states if your child has charged 2 breakfasts, he/she will not be able to receive a breakfast. If your child has charged 2 lunches, a peanut butter or cheese sandwich (with milk, fruit, vegetable or soup) will be provided. Click here for a Free/Reduced Meals Application.
As part of our comprehensive intervention plan, the District Attendance Teacher, Mrs Meagan Bender monitors, collects and reports student attendance data. She also serves as part of the District Data Team and is the District McKinney Vento representative for homeless students/families. Board Policy for Attendance Policy Number 7110
Your child must be 5 years of age by December 1. Parents must complete an application form and provide original birth certificate, immunization record, photo ID, and two (2) proofs of residency. Registration starts March 1 for the forthcoming school year at McKinley School Central Registration Office from 9:00am - 1:00pm. Please click on the "Our School " link for more information.
UNIVERSAL PRE-KINDERGARTEN (UPK) REGISTRATION
The UPK Program is for children who are four-years-old, on or before December 1, 2017. Our UPK Program is located at Truman Elementary School.
UPK Registration runs from February 1 - June 1, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Central Registration Office at McKinley School, 245 South Shore Blvd. for the 2018-18 school year. Enrollment is limited, so don’t delay. To apply for the 2017-2018 school year UPK Program, submit a complete registration packet, one for each child, along with the following to the Registration Office: proof of guardianship: such as the child's birth certificate, proof of residency, child’s immunization record and updated physical, and parent photo identification.
