Martin Road Elementary 5th grade students recently completed a unit of instruction on the metric system in Science class. Students completed several experiments using metric measurement. These experiments included measuring the length, height, and width of various classroom objects using meter sticks, measuring the volume of given objects using a graduated cylinder, and measuring the volume of a given objects using a triple – beam balance. Students thoroughly enjoyed these hands – on activities.
