Truman students learn how to make cave drawings

Kindergarten students at Truman Elementary School in Lackawanna were hard at work on cave art drawings in Mrs. Radder’s Art class.

The class read a story on the cave paintings of Lascaux Caves in France and talked about how the cave people would draw animals on the cave walls using various objects and materials found in nature. Students practiced cave drawings on wet clay using popsicle sticks. Next class, the students’ clay will be dry and they will paint them with brown watercolor paint to resemble the Lascaux Cave walls.
