    Are you at least 18 years of age, currently living in Lackawanna but not registered to vote in the School Board Election? If so, please stop in room 107 at the McKinley Administration Building located at 245 South Shore Blvd. on May 1, 2017 from 12:00 -5:00 p.m. to register to vote in the upcoming School Board Election which will take place on Tuesday, May 16, 2017!

    The UPK Program is for children who are four-years-old, on or before December 1, 2017. Our UPK Program is located at Truman Elementary School.

    UPK Registration runs from February 1 - June 1, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Central Registration Office at McKinley School, 245 South Shore Blvd. for the 2018-18 school year.  Enrollment is limited, so don’t delay. To apply for the 2017-2018 school year UPK Program, submit a complete registration packet, one for each child, along with the following to the Registration Office:  proof of guardianship: such as the child's birth certificate, proof of residency, child’s immunization record and updated physical, and parent photo identification.   • Lackawanna Lead Testing Results and Action Plan
    Please read this letter to review Lackawanna City School District’s lead testing results and action plan. The safety and security of Lackawanna CSD students, families, faculty, staff and community is the District’s main priority. We are taking responsive action to ensure each water source is in compliance with NYS water standards.

  • Extended School Day Program Now Available for Lackawanna Middle School Students
    Lackawanna Middle School and the YWCA have partnered together to offer Lackawanna Middle School Students a FREE Extended School Day. Program hours are 2:04-4:34 p.m., on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The staff has begun working together to provide engaging activities and enrichment programs offered during after school hours that focus on four themes: Health and Wellness, Leader in Me, Science Academy, and Artists’ Academy.

    As part of our comprehensive intervention plan, the District Attendance Teacher, Mrs Meagan Bender monitors, collects and reports student attendance data.     The District's charge policy for the school breakfast/lunch program for Grades Pre-K – 12 states if your child has charged 2 breakfasts, he/she will not be able to receive a breakfast. If your child has charged 2 lunches, a peanut butter or cheese sandwich (with milk, fruit, vegetable or soup) will be provided. Click here for an application to apply for Free/Reduced Meals.
