The purpose of this section is to inform you about changes in the immunization requirements for school entry related to Tdap (diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis) and Menactra vaccines.

Students entering sixth grade or an age-appropriate special education school or program and who are at least 11 years old, must receive the Tdap vaccination. If your child has received a vaccination containing tetanus, diphtheria or pertussis, your pediatrician may defer this immunization for two years.

Students entering seventh grade will need to receive their first dose of the Menactra vaccination, and students entering 12th grade will have had to receive their second dose. The only exception to this is if the student received the first dose after their 16th birthday.
