P-TECH PARENT INFO NIGHT
Parent Info Night for the P-TECH HOPE program is slated for Wednesday, March 28 from 5-6:30 p.m. in the high school library. Parents and guardians who are interested in enrolling their eighth-grade child for the Fall semester may learn more on the P-TECH HOPE webpage.

TRANSPORTATION REQUEST DEADLINE IS APRIL 1
Residents requesting transportation for their children to non-public or charter schools for the 2018-2019 school year must do so in writing by April 1, 2018.
Transportation Service Request forms are available on the Transportation Office page or may be obtained at the Transportation Department. Residency must be verified by the District before services can be provided. Please call the Registration Office at 821-5610, ext. 7703 if the residency for your child has not already been verified or if your child will be attending a new school.
Service cannot be extended to those who do not submit a transportation service request by April 1. Requests may be sent to: Lackawanna City School District Transportation Department, 245 South Shore Boulevard, Lackawanna, NY 14218.
NEW PHYSICAL GUIDELINES
Starting in the 2018-19 school year, physicals will be required for students in pre-kindergarten / kindergarten and grades 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11. This is in addition to any new students entering the district.
Please note these grades are different from previous years! It is not too early to call your doctor and schedule an appointment.
NEW TELEPHONE NUMBER
As a result of a vendor change in phone services, the district has moved forward with a new main phone number for incoming calls. The new number is (716) 821-5610.
EXTENDED SCHOOL DAY PROGRAM AVAILABLE AT MIDDLE SCHOOL
Lackawanna Middle School and the YWCA have partnered together to offer Lackawanna Middle School students a FREE Extended School Day. Program hours are 2:04-4:34 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The staff works together to provide engaging activities and enrichment programs offered during afterschool hours that focus on four themes: Health and Wellness, Leader in Me, Science Academy and Artists’ Academy.

As part of our comprehensive intervention plan, the District Attendance Teacher, Mrs. Meagan Bender, monitors, collects and reports student attendance data.
